As a NS&D Intel Portfolio ITEA Engineer you will be required to support the UK Intelligence & Security Campaign. The successful candidate will support the business in pursuing and successfully delivering a number of customer engagement opportunities and internal activities. The successful candidate will have experience of working within the National Security (Home Office, UKIC, Policing, NCA), and/or Defence (Defence Intelligence, Offence Cyber, Defence Digital) sectors. 

What is the role? 
Leidos are seeking an ITEA Engineer, with industry best practice knowledge to support our customers in the most challenging of environments. This is an opportunity for a Systems Engineer to become an integral part of the NS&D team supporting our customers. The successful candidate will lead the coordination of the Integrated Test, Evaluation, and Acceptance (ITEA) and Assurance activities.

The successful candidate will be expected to have a customer centric mind set, but take an active interest in developing an understanding of wider capabilities across the organisation, which would enable reach back from the customer community where beneficial to the customer. 

Responsibilities could include:

  • Coordinate the Integration, Test and Acceptance activities for the project, including the production of strategies, plans and associated acceptance artefacts.

  • Prepare test specifications (manual and automated) and conduct test execution and reporting activities

  • Ensure that the projects acceptance approach/plan is coherent with the wider framework.

  • Provide acceptance and requirements advice and guidance to the project and represent them on ITEA related matters.

  • Provide acceptance support to the creation of Business Cases, Review Notes and Information Notes.

  • Lead an ITEA steering group in support of the development of the projects related capability Milestones.

  • Ensure that the Statement of Requirements (SoRs) have measurable and testable Measures of Performance (MoPs).

  • Ensure acceptance Verification & Validation (V&V) activities at every level are appropriate and coherent with the ITEAP; and that decisions at the lower levels, whilst acceptable individually, do not have a cumulative effect that together compromises delivery of the required capability.

  • Identify and manage ITEA related RAIDO.

Basic Qualifications

  • UK national who is UK security cleared (SC) or qualifies for clearance.

  • Graduate with a good Honours or Masters degree in a relevant subject (e.g. Space System Engineering, Electronics, Communications); equivalent qualifications and/or experience can be considered as an alternative.

  • 5+ years of Integration and Test experience.

  • Experience working as part of a test team on projects with complex requirements sets.

  • Strong understanding of principles of acceptance, verification and validation, as well as analytical and test methodologies.

  • Good experience of non-functional testing e.g. performance, resilience and security

  • Worked closely with requirements verification matrices

  • Excellent written / verbal communication and information management skills.

  • Critical thinking abilities, with initiative to find innovative solutions.

  • Ability to lead on all areas of ITEA

Preferred Qualifications

  • Model based systems engineering experience a plus.

  • Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology or as a member of an agile team.

  • Experience with technical documentation development.

Location:
The role will be 100% site based at the Leidos UK Farnborough facility, some travel may be required to customer site or other Leidos offices depending on engagement / business need. Local arrangements can be agreed with the portfolio director or delegate.  Candidates need to hold or be eligible to gain UKIC DV.
