Description

Electronics Repair Centre Technician

Permanent, based on site in Kempston

Are you an Electronics Technician looking to support the build and repair of innovative automation?

If you’ve been away on holiday recently, you may have passed through one of our body scanners or passed you luggage down one of our baggage lines and had it x-rayed – that’s what we design and manufacture here at Leidos in Kempston.

Technology is great, but sometimes things go wrong through natural wear and tear and faults. When these occur we need to be ready to diagnose and fix the problems to get the equipment back in play.

We are seeking an Electronics technician to work in a small team, to repair boards down to component level. You will also be competent in PC Build and Repair including loading/reloading bespoke software on to the machines for the operation and control of various security and detection and baggage handling equipment.

You have a background in a repair centre, taking technology/PCs apart, finding any faults/issues and correcting and testing the problem methodically. It will be useful to have some additional electro-mechanical skills and be confident in reading wiring diagrams and schematics.

We recently moved into a brand new facility in Kempston where we offer great working conditions, you’ll join a friendly team with the autonomy to go and do your job. There’s always a new challenge to solve and as the technology evolves, you will need to get to grips with how each new piece of equipment works.

You’ll work on a day shift, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

We offer a competitive package with great benefits from a pension scheme (contribution matched up to 8%), private medical insurance and life assurance with loads of flexible benefits including dental insurance, gym flex and shopping discounts.

About You

Ideally, you will hold a recognised qualification in an electronics subject

Experience in electronic repair to component level

PC build and Repair experience, plus uploading software

Preferable some experience in electro-mechanical assembly and test

Knowledge of X-ray equipment would be beneficial but not essential

A team player with good verbal and written communication and report writing skills

Due to the nature of our business, you are expected to obtain and maintain BPSS security clearance

Pay Range:

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
