Programme Manager
We are in search of a Programme Manager for our Leidos engineering capability. The successful Programme Manager will have a full understanding of the principles of Programme Management, and ideally will have prior experience as a Programme Manager involving accepting and integrating deliveries from suppliers. Using your experience in Programme Management, you will be responsible for working with customers and suppliers to execute programme delivery activities across the full lifecycle.

As a Programme Manager in Leidos you will be working on one of our key programs delivering support on a complex and ever changing HMG system.
What you will do
Your primary responsibility will be to deliver both the in-service support contract and oversee project work packages to support our HMG customer. The programme encompasses service delivery to an operationally critical IT system. You will own the contract that maintains the wider system and be responsible for deliveries of smaller work packages and supporting bid work.
The Programme Manager role is a critical element for a larger technical programme, and some technical knowledge is desirable. Working alongside a Service Delivery Manager, Chief Engineer, Solution Architect and a Project Manager the Programme Manager is responsible to help deliver the strategic leadership of the project, as well as implementing standard programme controls and management tasks. This is a strongly customer facing role and the Programme Manager will be expected to have excellent written and stakeholder management skills.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Management and control of work packages; budget, procurement and finances
- Management of Risk, Assumptions and Dependencies, and understanding linkage between shop floor decisions and corporate risk
- Stakeholder engagement for mission critical relationships throughout the customer organisation
- Support to the Service Delivery Manager in day to day resource management
- Processing additional customer requests for support End to End
- Produce internal and external reporting on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis
- Attending weekly and quarterly customer briefings as a Leidos Representative
- Managing programme scope creep, requirements and acceptance criteria
- Owner internal and customer deliverable documentation
- Leads the commercial programmatic decisions
- Developing, implementing and updating resource allocations plans
- Good commercial understanding of business best practice
- Support to the Portfolio Manager, and working collaboratively with other Programme Managers, the Commercial Manager and the Service Delivery Manager.
Personal Skills & Qualities- Desirable Skills:
- Experience in planning and delivering tasks through engagement with technical colleagues and customers
- Knowledge of Scaled Agile is desirable, but not essential
- Experience in the use of PM tools, ideally including MSP, JIRA and You Track
- An understanding of the management of Risk
- Have a commercial awareness of contracts (T&M, FFP etc), ATPs, and change requests
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills – both verbal and written
- Experience of supporting bid proposals desirable not essential
- Flexibility and agility in thought and daily working practices to accommodate customer direction.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001
The role will be as a mobile worker, mainly working from home but visits to a customer site are essential. Training will be provided where necessary on any Leidos proprietary tools and processes.
Location: This role will be mainly working from home, with travel to sites in the south-west.
Clearance Required: This role will require DV clearance.
