Description

CNC Setter / Programmer - Milling

Leidos is currently seeking an experienced CNC Setter / Programmer - Milling, to work on a late shift (2pm to 10.15pm Monday to Friday)

SUMMARY:

To ensure goods and services are produced efficiently, at the right cost and level of quality, in-line with company standards and schedule.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

- Set and run CNC machines

- Occasionally programming on machines for modifications

- Loading of CNC programs

- Prepare cutting tools.

- De-burr components.

- Running and checking “1st” off and random batch inspection.

- Observe machine operation to verify accuracy of machine settings.

Technical

  • Understand the Quality Management System Quality Brief.
  • Responsible for the production of Company products.
  • Achieve production targets and deadlines.
  •  Work from engineering drawings.
  • To clock in/out and fill in time cards correctly.
  • Ensure that materials are available at the machine, in the correct quantities and to the correct specifications
  • Monitor product standards and implement quality control programmes - ISO9001, ISO14001 and Q1
  • Carry out preventative maintenance on machines ( including lubrication, checking levels) and report any foul.
  • Provide your own tools and ensure they are serviceable at all times.

Team Working

  • Continually build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Positively promote the best interests of Leidos Industrial Engineers at all times.

About You

Experienced CNC Milling machine setter. Ideally some knowledge of Fanuc, Siemens or Heidenhain controls.

Ability to Set 3axis and 4axis Jobs and make minor edits / adjustments to the CNC program via the machine controls.

Good understanding of fine engineering tolerances and quality inspections requirements.

Due to the nature of our business, you will need to pass and maintain a BPSS security check.
