Test & Acceptance Manager

We currently have a vacancy for a Test and Acceptance Manager working on a flagship programme, delivering change into Critical National Infrastructure in the UK.
This role requires someone to lead a team of test engineers to verify and validate changes made to the system as well as develop more efficient and modern test techniques and processes.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work independently and as part of a team.
What will I be doing?
Strategy and Development:
- Support to Chief Engineer in delivering a solution that meets the user need within the bounds of requirements whilst acknowledging the schedule and cost constraints.
- Develop and maintain verification and validation processes and procedures.
- Lead on Verification and validation activities for the programme including being the primary contact for customer stakeholders.
General Deliverables:
- Team Management including the planning of work packages, allocation to team members and reporting.
- Development and optimisation of system verification and validation processes to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
- Technical input to programme management and cost estimation teams.
- Ensure issues are escalated appropriately with suggested solutions and their progress is communicated in a timely manner.
The successful applicant will be able to execute and perform without assistance, and possessing significant practical experience and applied knowledge across the following areas:
- Verification and validation processes including the ways in that those processes are controlled and managed.
- Identifying risk areas associated with the project and testing objectives.
- Working with engineering teams and specialist engineering teams to determine testing criteria.
What skills does Leidos need from me?
- Extensive proven test management experience
- Excellent understanding of the different types of testing such as Functional and Integration Testing.
- Demonstrable experience with verification and validation on system integration projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor communications based on the audience.
Desirable skills would include:
- Performance testing and measurement of integrated systems
- Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools
- ISTQB® Certified Tester Advanced Level - Test Manager
Clearance Requirements: Due to the nature of the project, this role will require having or obtaining SC clearance.
