Linux and DevOps Lead Engineer

This role is split between RAF Wyton and Defence Digital site in Feltham Middlesex, with occasional visits to Leidos offices in Farnborough. You will be responsible for the support and delivery of Linux and DevOps Engineering functions providing an agreed set of capabilities to be delivered into service.

Working with the Project Manager(s), you will provide engineering and technical support with a focus on Linux and DevOps for all aspects of the engineering function to deliver capability to time, cost, and quality.
In this role you will:
- Provide technical leadership on Linux and DevOps specifically leading on implementation and new approaches, and
- Support the engineering function in infrastructure type activities for the solution implementation, comprising the designs, implementation, Test and Acceptance for the delivery of the capability into the Service Operations Team.
You will support the other technical area leads (Network, Applications and Test) for the peer review of documentation prior to submission to the Authority customer consistent with the guidance provided in the SEMP for technical review.
Working with the Technical Lead, as part of the engineering team you will support the capability through to submission to the Service Acceptance Board utilising the Service Delivery team and service architects.
DevOps and Linux Lead Engineer
- Deliver the technical leadership on Linux, DevOps processes and new approaches,
- Lead on Linux and DevOps implementation supporting the engineering delivery function,
- Work with the Infrastructure Manager to deliver infrastructure capability for SUB-2 and /or Normal Change functional upgrades,
- Support the Solution Architect(s) where required to ensure that proposed solutions requiring Linux and DevOps meet the requirement(s) and are compatible with the Engineering Baseline,
- Work with the Security Architect(s) where required to ensure solution implementation is complaint with Security processes and principals,
- Support the Service Architect(s) where required to ensure that delivered capabilities can be fully supported,
- Provide technical oversight to the Project Team and sub-Teams as required,
- Attend SAFE ceremonies (PI Planning, daily stand ups, iteration planning, and iteration reviews) and
- Support recruitment activities to provide SQEP individuals to the Agile teams
