CMM Quality Inspector

Leidos are currently seeking an experienced CMM Quality Inspector / FARO ARM Operator/Programmer, to join our team.

We offer paid overtime over 40 hours per week.

The role

Programming and operating of our Co-ordinate Measuring Machines (C.M.M.) and Faro Arm used to verify the dimensional accuracy of component parts, fixtures, Jigs, according to CAD data, and tool/part print specifications. Recording of inspection results and the preparation and distribution of reports pertaining to such inspection results.

Ideally you will have some knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001 and Q1.

Some responsibilities of the role include

  • Operating and programming faro arm and CMM machine
  • Checking components from CNC workshop, ensuring components are made correctly and within tolerances on the drawings
  • Creating programs by using CAD models
  • Inspecting jigs, fixtures, and simple components
  • Creating reports for customers and internal reports
  • Adjusting components to meet inspection requirements and tolerances
  • Calibrating and maintaining equipment
  • General inspection using multiple measurement equipment (micrometres, gauges, etc)
  • Reporting any failure to assembly and Quality Lead for correction
  • Filling up any NCR documentation for failed products
  • Checking fixtures or jigs on the final stage for any missing parts, damages, and quality issues
  • Completing final inspection report sheets

About You

You are an experienced inspector with the ability to program and operate CMM machinery

Relevant engineering qualification

Able to read engineering drawings

Familiar with a wide range of inspection equipment

Flexible to complete other ad hoc tasks across the shop floor and stores
