We are recruiting for a 2nd Line System Support Engineer to join our busy Secure Service team in Farnborough on a permanent basis. Candidates will require a minimum of SC Clearance to commence in this role and be able to attain higher clearance if required.
THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY
The role is to provide exceptional first and second line technical support to Defence & Intelligence clients using a broad range of systems across multiple security domains and technologies.
Using your exceptional communication skills, you will deal with a range of incidents, requests and problems. You will undertake analysis, diagnosis and proactively drive incidents through to effective resolution. You will also work closely with our engineering teams to manage new service into live, decommission services and defect management.
You must be passionate about IT and Customer Service. You will be responsible for taking ownership of and troubleshooting incidents, managing routine system changes, building strong internal and customer relationships and working with internal teams and third parties.
It is important you possess a good working knowledge of Microsoft operating platforms including cloud based services, WAN and LAN hardware and configuration. You will hold some or all of the following qualifications - Microsoft MTA or MCSA, Juniper, Cisco and Dell.
You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of ITIL processes and their importance in a support environment with specific consideration for incident, problem, and change and release management. You will have experience of Virtualisation (e.g. VMware, MS Hyper-V) and Enterprise Storage (e.g. Netapp, Dell Complement).
