Job Description:
Key responsibilities will include: -
Set, operate and Program CNC Machinery and Lathes safely and efficiently
These Lathes are fixed head and have Siemens/Fanuc Controls.
Manufacturing a variety of components from engineering drawings to within tight limits
Manufacturing all components within an agree timescale
Setting a variety of CNC machine tools, as and when requiredWrite own programs to required specification
Ensure that Health and Safety awareness and performance meet company standards
Responsible for quality and full conformity to the drawings
Use a wide range of measuring equipment to check components after manufacture
Make sure that manufactured products are suitably protected for transit
Mentor new staff as required
Be responsible for making sure that all manufacturing paper work is completed correctly.
About you:
You’ll have a track record in “hands on” CNC manufacturing environment and demonstrable industry knowledge using engineering principles to provide efficient solutions for the manufacture of machine engineered, precision components, coupled with:
Proven CNC Machining, Milling and Lathe experience is essential
Experienced with Fanuc/Siemens an advantage
Accustomed to working in a fast paced, engineering environment
Must be able to read engineering drawings, set CNC machines and use measuring equipment
Ability to work using Metric and Imperial measurements is a must
Automotive, Industrial Automation or Aerospace industry experience preferred
Ideally apprenticeship trained and qualified to GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
Good technical literacy skills
Although the role is to be based from our Wickford hub, the successful candidate may be required to regularly travel to other locations within the UK and worldwide, therefore a valid passport and full driving licence is mandatory.
Other Duties andFunctions
● Housekeeping (clean, efficient and safe work place).
● Daily before use checks of machines and equipment.
● Maintenance of machines and fault reporting.
● Ensure your working area within the Workshop is kept clean and tidy.
