The company are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Data Engineer who is proficient in Power BI who thrives on working on complex and challenging assignments and is keen to help develop and expand the organisations Data Engineering capability. Within this role the company will provide you will opportunities to work with different clients, across multiple contracts, enabling variety and scope for learning and development.
In your first assignment you will be assisting one of our Scottish Government clients in building a shared service for Power BI. The client requires someone to lead, inform and help build the architecture, recommend support models and advise on what needs to have in place to scale up for future offerings (Power Apps, Automation etc.) As a specialist in Power BI, you will work
with the client, and their team, to provide advice around datasets, recommendations for improvement and identify security requirements.
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate that they can:
Create innovative solutions within Power BI.
Collect, transform and maintaining large quantities of data.
Build, support and improve the data infrastructure.
Solve data quality issues.
Build and improve BI solutions within Power BI.
Deliver ETL across data platforms.
Maintain data lake solutions.
Use and Maintain Power BI dashboards
Successful candidates will also have a solid understanding of:
Cloud Technologies (Azure or AWS)
Data Modelling
ETL (Extract, Transform, Load)
Data Warehousing
Database Technologies
SQL Scripting
Stored Procedures
The desired work location would be ideally Glasgow, however alternative work locations include Farnborough and Whiteley. Hybrid office / home-working options are also available.
Minimum Clearance requirement for this role is to Scottish Government BPSS Level, however candidates should also be able to achieve SC Clearance for future work. Candidates already possessing either would be advantageous.
